my mom is sixty seventoday.

we arent supposed to publish the age of a woman. i know. dont care.

my mom was born May 16th. 1953.

that makes her sixty seven.

happy birthday mommy. this is for you.

my mommy; my children call her Nonnie, is one of two of the most amazing women i have been blessed to know.

Mom does not ever do a recipe. She has to mix it up and do something different or it isnt going to be ok.

Mom has a creativity that is truly rare in todays world of going online and buying something. You can get whatever you want online these days. You cant go buy something that somebody spent hours making JUST FOR YOU.

And she makes so much just for you stuff for so many specific people.

MY Mommy wraps people in. Not the cool people that everybody wants to be close to. My Mommy wraps in the people that might not have any single other person who appears to care. Mom is like gravity to the people who need a Mommy the most.

My Mommy loves. She listens. She empathizes. She actually gives one shit about what you are saying.

My Mommy can do anything. she can keep dad in check. she can handle anything that comes her way. and she can somehow never let her children feel like she is struggling with any of it.

My Mommy can express a view with a simple praise. or with a simple sarcastic sentence. I have to write an essay. She can just give you a look; or an “ok” and you get the point.

Mom is not easy. she isnt a pushover. I love when she (rarely) has a little too much to drink and speaks her mind. because My Mommy is strong. she knows where she stands. and sometimes she actually says it out loud.

you should really see her grand-daughters when they get to do a nonnie project. in love does not begin to describe.

you should really see her grand-sons when she asks them for help with something. i should have been so willing as a teenage son.

My Mommy is amazing. One of a kind. And Truly incredible.

Happy Birthday Mom. We love you.
