On Dads

There are all kinds of Fathers in the world.

Most of it has to do with how involved a Man, or a man; is willing to be involved in the lives of his children.

Any male can make a baby.

It takes a Man; not a man; to be a daddy.

A Daddy is the sort of Man who can be soft and hard at the same time.

A Daddy will teach you how you should be by example.

A Daddy will not let you settle for less, even when you dont understand why he is being so mean or doesnt understand.

He will hold you accountable to do and be more than you thought you could. You will never understand why you constantly screw it up in his view.

And you will understand more and more the older you get why he did that.

see. your mommy is there to love you. she is there to make a Very Good Citizen out of you.

Your Old Man is there to kick your ass until you get it right.

Dad will always tell you great job on the B. and follow up with asking why it wasnt an A.

A Dad expects a lot. Demands a lot. And frankly; will rip you a new one if you dont just do it. because that is his job.

A Daddy needs to find a way to be love. and guidance. and a teacher. and a hardass. all at once.

and that is really tough to do. it is a lot of thought. a lot of patience. and a lot of effort. because a Daddy is also not interested in hurting his children.

He only wants to make them strong. ready. and able to become Daddy’s and Mommy’s when it is their turn.

And that is what separates a Daddy from a Father.
