Man Up Son

My Sons are 16 and 14. This is what i want them to know.

Man Up.

Be strong enough to do what is right when there isnt anybody to catch you doing wrong.

Care enough about others to help when nobody else wants to help.

Know that you are nobody’s judge. Love all. Care for all. It is not your place to judge sin. It is your place to express love and to protect your own judgement day.

Understand what I have taught you about sin. Understand more what I have taught you about forgiveness.

Own up to your failures. your poor choices. Man Up when it is time to admit that you have failed.

Man Up when it is time you did better too.

Do Not Fear the unknown. sometimes the only way to know what is out there for you is to step into the dark and turn on a light.

Be strong enough to deal with what the light sheds itself on.

Life will try to get you down. Man Up. Take it on. Do your best.

But do what is right.

Never bend from doing what is right.

It is a slippery slope. you think you can manage it, but once you start to descend you will find yourself at the bottom.

Manage your inputs. Pay attention to the effect that the voices of the world are having on your judgement.

Take a break from those voices now and then and recenter on what is Right. What is Good.

And then Man Up and be strong enough to choose what is good.

People wont like it. They will say you think you are better than them.

Maybe you are. I Pray that you are.

But know that isnt your place to judge.

your place is to love.

your place is to care.

your place is to listen.

And your place is to do the best to help.

That is hard. really hard. to do.

And that; That means you have to Man Up.
